How blessings work
- Separate track. Tiers unlock on a count of completed blessing tasks, not on a points balance, so climbing this track does not cost you any league points.
- 5 blessing tasks per region. They are combat tasks, from killing a goblin in Lumbridge up to defeating the Black Stone Dragon, and Combat Mastery achievements count. 55 exist across all 11 regions, but a single account unlocks 6 regions, so 30 are reachable in one run, and the last tier needs 26. The task list marks every one and filters to them.
- One pick per tier. Each tier offers the same choice: an Order, a Balance or a Chaos blessing.
- No combat style lock.Unlike Catalyst's combat relics, blessings never commit you to melee, ranged, magic or necromancy.
- God tiers at tier 4 and tier 8. The picks below each one decide which you get.
- Four resets. Three are earned as you climb, at tier 1 and at each of the two God tiers, and a fourth was granted to every account by the 12 August hotfix, so an early pick is not permanent.
- Free-to-play stops at tier 2. A free account never reaches a God tier, so the two-pick rule below never resolves for one, and only two of the four resets are in reach: the tier 1 one and the granted one.
The numbered tiers run 1 to 6, and the two God tiers are the fourth and eighth steps of the climb, which is why the labels and the order do not line up. The wiki renumbered these on 5 August: what it once called tiers 5, 6 and 7 are the tiers 4, 5 and 6 above.
Planning your path
The two-pick rule
Applies twiceEach God tier is decided by the three picks below it: two or more from one path awards that path's blessing, and one of each awards the Balance one.
- Tiers 1 to 3 decide God Tier 1.Order gives Sacred Fervor, Balance gives Splash Zone, Chaos gives Demon's Mark, one of each gives Splash Zone.
- Tiers 4 to 6 decide God Tier 2. Order gives Genesis Essence, Balance gives Power Archive, Chaos gives Chaotic Insight, one of each gives Power Archive.
True Equilibrium at tier 4 pays for the opposite plan: it scales with how many different paths you have taken across tiers 1 to 6, so spreading picks costs you both God tier specialisations and pays you three stacks of it instead.
What each path is good at
Player consensusZamorak's blessings are almost purely offensive. Guthix's vary the most, leaning on damage over time. Saradomin's are strong on both attack and defence, which is why they are the popular pick, and Teragard's Aegis at tier 1 and Lord of Light at tier 5 are the two named most often.
Most of them are powerful enough that the pick matters less than the combination, and the strongest combinations usually sit inside one path without always doing so: Envenomed sharply raises the poison damage coming from Grasp of Guthix.
Written on the wiki's blessings page on 23 August and extended on 25 August, a fortnight into the League. This is what players report rather than anything Jagex has stated, and it can move as the meta settles.
Blessing tasks are not equally hard per region
From the task dataEvery region carries the same 5 blessing tasks, so the count never favours one pick. The difficulty does. Ranking the optional regions by the tiers of their five tasks:
- Fremennik and Kandarin ask the least. Their hardest tasks:
- Fremennik Defeat 20 Acheron mammoths.
- Kandarin Complete all Combat Mastery achievements for the Ascension Legiones.
- Desert and Tirannwn ask the most. Their hardest tasks:
- Desert Defeat Telos, the Warden at 4,000% enrage.
- Tirannwn Defeat 25 Lost Grove creatures.
- Only Morytania and Desert put a master tier task on the blessing track. No other region goes past elite.
Ranked from the task tiers on this site rather than quoted, so it moves with the data. The wiki raised the same point on its Regions page on 15 August, five days into the League, with Fremennik named as the light one and Kharidian Desert and Tirannwn as the heavy ones, and sharpened it on 17 August. That reading holds here. It still leaves out Morytania, which carries a master tier blessing task of its own.
